Your Tesla, charged on sunshine
you'd otherwise sell for cents

The first service to seamlessly connect Sigenergy solar systems with Tesla vehicles — through the charger you already own. Tesla Wall Connector, the Tesla mobile connector in a normal socket, or any other third-party charger: we control the car, not the plug. No extra hardware, no electrician, no fuss.

Watch your surplus become range

Every 30 seconds, ChargeSense reads how much solar your Sigenergy system is exporting and adjusts your Tesla's charging to soak up exactly that much — no more, no less.

Live from the ChargeSense dashboard: the same animated view shows your real numbers, updating every 30 seconds.

1

Connect Sigenergy

Give us your system ID and approve us by email. We never ask for your mySigen password — Sigenergy authorise us directly, and you can withdraw it whenever you like.

2

Connect Tesla

Sign in on Tesla's own site (we never see your Tesla password) and approve a virtual key from the Tesla app. Two minutes.

3

Plug in. That's it.

ChargeSense takes over whenever you plug in at home: charging follows your sunshine, pauses for clouds, and stops at your chosen battery limit.

Everything the sun allows, nothing it doesn't

Set-and-forget solar charging with the controls you actually want.

🔆

Solar-following charging

Charging amps track your live export — up when the sun's out, down for the kettle, off for the clouds. Your home and battery always come first.

🔌

Plug-in takeover

Plug in at home and ChargeSense immediately pauses the car's default charging, so every kWh waits for sunshine (or your schedule). One tap overrides it.

🌙

Cheap-rate schedules

Night-rate window? Set daily or per-day charging schedules with their own battery limit — solar by day, cheap grid by night.

🎯

Separate battery limits

Charge to 80% on sunshine but only 60% overnight — each mode has its own limit, set on the car itself for safety.

📊

Live dashboard

An animated energy-flow view, daily solar/car/grid totals, and a 3-day solar forecast — installable on your phone like an app.

🔐

Security first

Encrypted credentials, two-factor login, and Tesla access limited to charging only — we couldn't unlock your car even if we wanted to.

Free while we're in beta

Every unit you export earns you cents at buy-back rates. In your car, it replaces what you'd otherwise pay to charge. Your dashboard shows exactly how much you actually put in.

Questions, answered

Do I need any extra hardware?

No — that's the point. If you have a Sigenergy inverter and a Tesla, ChargeSense connects to both through their existing internet connections. No CT clamps, no OCPP boxes, no electrician visits.

Which systems are supported?

Any Sigenergy residential system (SigenStor and family) with the mySigen app, and any Tesla that supports Tesla's modern vehicle API (roughly all Model 3/Y, and S/X from 2021 onward).

One caveat worth knowing: if your panels run through aseparate, non-Sigenergy inverter, Sigenergy's data feed doesn't report that generation to us. Charging still works correctly — we match your car to what your home is actually sending to the grid, and that measurement includes every panel you own. What suffers is the solar figure on your dashboard, which will read low. We spot it and tell you.

Do I need a Sigenergy charger? What charger do I need?

ChargeSense is built for people charging a Tesla from a non-Sigenergy charger — a Tesla Wall Connector, the Tesla mobile connector in an ordinary socket, or any other third-party charger. Those chargers know nothing about your solar, and your Sigenergy system knows nothing about them; ChargeSense is the missing link, because it controls the car rather than the charger. Any "dumb" charger becomes solar-aware, with no wiring, no OCPP and no new box on the wall.

If you own Sigenergy's own AC charger, it already talks to your inverter directly and does its own solar charging — you don't need us for that one.

How does it know how much surplus I have?

Your Sigenergy system continuously reports how much power your home is exporting after the house and home battery have taken what they need. ChargeSense matches your car's charging rate to that number, every 30 seconds. Home and battery always have priority — we only ever use what would have gone to the grid.

Is my Tesla account safe?

You sign in on Tesla's own website — we never see or store your Tesla password. Tesla grants us access limited to charging control and charge status only. Commands are cryptographically signed and you approve the key from your own Tesla app. Revoke it any time from the car.

What about my Sigenergy login?

We never ask for it. You give us your system ID — a short code that identifies your system, not a key that opens it — and Sigenergy email the account that owns the system to ask whether ChargeSense may read it. Nothing reaches us until you approve, and we hold no password for your system at any point.

We read your solar, battery and grid figures and nothing else. We can't change a setting on your system, and your operating mode stays entirely yours. To withdraw our access, remove ChargeSense from your Sigenergy account — you never have to change your own password, and nothing about your mySigen app changes while we're connected.

Sigenergy's approval email is written to cover every use of their API, so it mentions dispatching systems in VPP programs. We don't do that, and we have never had the ability to.Full instructions →

Which Sigenergy operating mode should I use?

Whichever one you already prefer. We've tested against both Self Consumption and Sigen AI, and both work — keep running the mode that suits your house. We never change it.

What the mode does change is when there is surplus for the car. Modes that manage the battery themselves decide for themselves when to store and when to release, so the spare solar reaches the car at different times of day. We follow whatever surplus your system actually leaves, so the car simply charges when it is there.

If you run another mode and something looks off, please tell us — that feedback is exactly what the beta is for.

Can I see my system on a screen at home?

Yes — that's SigBuddy, our other project. A small always-on display you put somewhere you'll actually walk past, showing what your Sigenergy system is doing right now: solar in, battery, house, grid.

It reads your system directly over your own wifi — no app, no cloud, no account — and it works whether or not you use ChargeSense. Different product, same houses. sigbuddy.com →

What happens when it's cloudy?

Charging ramps down with the clouds and pauses when there's no surplus, then resumes automatically when the sun returns. If you need a full battery regardless of weather, tap Force Charge or set an overnight schedule.

What if I plug in somewhere else — work, a public charger?

ChargeSense pauses AC charging wherever you plug in, so no kWh sneaks past your plan. Just tap Force Charge in the dashboard if you do want to charge away from home. Superchargers and DC fast charging are never touched.

Where is ChargeSense available?

New Zealand and Australia at launch — everywhere Sigenergy's Asia-Pacific systems and Tesla's vehicle platform overlap. Other regions later; register interest and we'll let you know.

Charge schedules and daily totals run on your local time, picked up automatically during setup and changeable in Settings — so an 11pm window means 11pm where you are.

Can I cancel? What happens to my data?

Cancel anytime, in one click. Your car reverts to charging exactly as Tesla intended — and your data is deleted automatically: credentials and access tokens immediately, energy history (including backups) within 30 days. No requests, no retention.
